Are Silkies contagious?

I grew up with RIR's and Barred Rocks, but that was years ago. I wanted house pets that would provide me with snacks every now and then... so a small chicken (or two) was important. NOW I want more. Yes, they are contagious. Use extreme caution when walking past the silkie chicks. I'd wish you the best of luck, but you'll probably succumb to the EVIL SILKIES anyway, so it's no use.

Um, I sat on the couch last night with 2 blue silkies cuddled up on my chest sleeping for 2 hours. They were SO cute (my niece is supposed to send the pics she took and I'll post when she does). Plus, I bought some buff ones yesterday and am waiting on blacks and whites to hatch as well. I can't wait!

I love all my chickens, but there is something about the silkies that I just can't resist!!

I gave in and ordered blue silkie eggs for my broody girl to set, and they'll be hatching this week. I can hardly wait! I expect to be thoroughly addicted immediately, and plan to just let them make as many baby silkies as they want! If I get too many, I'm sure I can pass the silkie virus on to my friends and neighbors...

How could these not be addictive?!?! I just picked up three yesterday from my local feed store. They are soooooooo cute....
