I just uses ice Cream gallon container with a hole cut in one side for a door.

If you're talking about coturnix:
1 - no
2 - okay, depending on dimensions
3 - good design, looks small, though.
4 - I have this one. I use it as a temporary enclosure when I have too many birds. It's perfect for about 5 birds, especially if you add some hiding places.

Quail need at least 1 square foot per bird. Make sure to subtract space used by feeders, waterers, and hiding places.

As mentioned, building your own would be better if you have the tools and the knowledge of carpentry....that having been said, number 2 would probably be best.

What do you mean hiding places for number #4?

Places for quail to get out of sight from each other

You can use almost anything. Old boxes, dollar store baskets. Here's an example.

That would work. I personally like #2. Just make sure they have enough room 4 quails need 4 square feet. Also, make sure it has 1/2x1/2 in. gaps for ventilation.

Depends on what species you're thinking of. It would be cheaper to just build wire stackers honestly
