Are there any Mellow friendly standard breeds that lay WHITE eggs?

They aren't the most common birds but California Grey are claimed by those who keep them, to be calm birds.

Austra Whites are also uncommon and supposedly calm.

I've never had either.

Steve

edited to say, I have had Brahma and they are certainly calm, however, they didn't lay white eggs.

We have leghorns in all colors, Andalusians and Minorca's none are suicidal..the Andy's were while they were real young-under a month but now they are just like all the others. My kids go out and carry around all of our chickens no matter the breed and they argue about who gets the lovin first.

Wow HBuehler- you and chicksdigit have had great luck with friendly leghorns- Does it make a difference if they are from a hatchery or breeder?

My Phoenix is suppose to lay cream colored medium size eggs (but only 1 a week), she is still young so I am still waiting. Although her breed is not suppose to be friendly, mine girl is - I hand-raised her from day 1.

I have 5 Silver Phoenix. 2 Roosters and 3 Hens. I get about 6 eggs a week from them right now, and one of them is broody. They are a very pale cream. If you didn't hold a white egg up to it you would swear it was white. However, once you put that white egg up to it, you know it's not white.

Here is a pic of all the eggs my hens lay....

They are from left to right

Silver Phoenix, Two Cochin, One Mottled Java and One Supermarket Large White egg.

I have Andalusians and the hens are real sweet the roos not so much but that is my sons fault. I didn't get to handle them as much due to an injury right after I got them but they come up for treats I don't find them flighty at all.
