Hey there! Thank you for clicking on my threadddd!
I was wondering if there was anyway to prevent any ducks, specifically Muscovy's to fly away without clipping their wings since I'm very scared to make them bleed out accidentally cutting a blood feather?

Thank you.

I don't keep ducks so I can't say. As far as bleeding from feathers. (Or anywhere else) You should look up a couple of different methods for stopping blood loss, and have the materials on hand. Not only for the occasional accident clipping wings. But injuries happen, when your animal is bleeding in front of you, that's the wrong time to be learning how to stop it. Your injured animals will thank you.

Good post and valid point. Once you have seen a blood feather they are pretty easy to recognize. The first time you trim a birds wings is a bit nerve wracking but after that it is no big deal. You just need to have a good holder! If you do have a bleeding blood feather sometimes the only way to get it to stop is to pull it from the base. Good to research before hand for sure!

Wouldn't pulling the feather out hurt alot? i heard people patch up the cut, I'm not sure if that's correct?
