They most look like moth larvae or maybe beetle grubs to me. Odd that moth larvae would be eating detritus like that (maybe they had already been inside plant stems or old fruit), I’m not too familiar with Hawaiian insects. But in any case they must be a quail’s favorite snack, mine love any sort of soft wiggly grub.My Italian hen declared the grubs delicious. She didn't let any other birds have any.
