Are there particular places where ducks like to be petted?

I’m a bit jealous here, I can’t freely pet or pick up any of this unruly clan. My first gal wasn’t a problem and would jump on my lap and wrap her head and neck around me. I miss her so much! She started all this madness.

When I am offering mealworms out of my hand or container I can usually get a few pets in with my Runners, My Muscovy drake I can pet any time anywhere. He's such a baby and almost 10 yrs old.

I think it also depends on the personality of the duck, how you pet them when raising them (they associate that with comfort) and how often you handle them on a regular basis.

I notice that whenever one of my girls has to get foot soak and medicine, after the whole experience they are super trusting and sweet to me. Like they crave the comfort I'm offering them. Otherwise, on a normal day, they will allow a short cuddle/pet and squawk/demand to be on their way.

As for my one male...he is just a cuddle beast. He wants pets, kisses and snuggles all the time. Will demand them by pulling on my pants.
