Here they are with their Silkie Mother.
They are cute and they do look like wheaten ameraucanas.
Thanks! I thought so.
Maybe. They don't look exactly right to me. Does the one have blue (gray) on top of her head? What color are the legs? Where did you get the eggs?
You're looking for a bird that looks like this. Pic from the Ameraucana Breeders Association. http://www.ameraucana.org/scrapbook_files/lfbluewheatenf.jpg
I don't think they are. What make you think so? Did you purchase them from a breeder as such?
They shouldn't have a blue/gray head. And, I can't see their legs, they should be slate. And, their feathers aren't quite the right color.
Now, that said, it could just be bad lighting in your pictures making it look wrong.
The blue head is a red flag for me, too--and the one bird's beard looks blue, also. I think we need more info--and at the very least, they aren't very nicely colored blue wheatens.
No, they are not Wheaten colored.
I got them at a co-op. They had a lot of different colored Ameraucana's and I thought these ones looked like Blue Wheaten Ameraucana's. The one does have a blue head.
Here they are as babies.
If they aren't Blue Wheaten Ameraucana's what are they?
When they were babies they had pinkish colored legs right now they have green legs.
