I just found some critters in my chicken coop. I was cleaning the coop and I noticed these critters in the nooks and crannies in the coop. I will leave some pictures down below. What can I do? I sprayed them with rubbing alcohol but that clearly didn't work. They still got together and stayed there. I've noticed these dark or light grey spots in the coop and I think it is coming from these pests. I want to ask, how do you kill them how do I remove them from the coop, nesting box area? I saw these same ticks from an old coop I used to have but I took that down. But now, it looks like they have moved to the new coop. What can I do?

You need to ask at your garden supply store for permetrhin concentrate or spinosad. Mix a solution and spray the coop thoroughly. Both of these insecticides are non-toxic to poultry. Permethrin needs two treatments to be effective while spinosad only requires one.

May I ask where on this blue planet you are located? I never heard of these things! Am wondering if we have them in my area.

Thanks, let me see if I can find spinosad at my local stores. Also, how does the permitherin solution work? just in case I can't find the spinosad.

I live in NM. I too, didn't know about these critters but I started to investigate about it and apparently they are chicken ticks.

garlic keeps them away. Sprinkle garlic powder in the coop. After 3 days sprinkle some around the coop. I put it in the chicken food.

food.
How effective is it? I want something strong, I don't want them back but I am not sure if that is possible, there are a lot of birds here so we'll see.
