are these cockerels?

I know everyone is saying pullets because of the barring, but the combs on 1 & 3 are huge and really red compared to the definite pullet. I'd keep an eye on them and post again in a couple weeks to make sure.

Yes, hatched 5/6/15 if I remember correctly. How stood out because he was more of a light gray color and chunkier than the other ones. He was also a lot heavier than the others even though he was not that much larger in size.

At almost 8 weeks, your "questionable" roos would have little waddles starting too... The ones that have "redder" combs are maturing earlier. Barred Rock pullets/hens get nice red combs; they start pinking up at about 6 weeks.

Yes, and see how "Rocket" has waddles? And at 8 weeks, he has a very prominent comb.

I'm just going by experience; my laying flock is half Barred Rocks; the comb thing tricks a lot of people lol

Okay, just misunderstood what you were saying :)
My white rocks were pretty difficult to tell at 3-4 weeks, and even older I was unsure about one of my pullets. Never hurts to keep an eye on them! lol

I just went back and checked my emails their 3 weeks old they hatched on the 8th last month

Keep an eye on the barring and possible waddle formation... You'll notice the difference between your pullets and a cockerel when they are feathered and fuzz is gone. I thought I had 2 roos when they were chicks... turns out they were just faster growing, and are now the top 2 hens in the pecking order ;) Sometimes looking for spots, splashes, and barring, EVERYTHING starts to look like a cockerel ha-ha.... Paranoia lol ;)

They are frustrating sometimes lol. 3-4 weeks is SO young to tell, but they are WAY easier than silkies!! It's so hard to wait 4 months to find out! :D

Oh I know about the silkies! I have two 3 month olds, one is easily a male (having a single comb, hatchery bird) and I'm so nervous about the other! Hoping I have one pullet!
I love my Plymouth Rock pullet though, she's about 16 weeks now I think. Her comb started reddening about 8-10 weeks or so, if I remember correctly.

Hey guys heres an updated photo of one of the ones I think is a roo. His/hers comb has gotten redder and bigger and red wattles are starting to develop and its breast feathers coming in have a lot of white on them so I'm pretty much 100% convinced its a cockerel
