Hi, I need a little help, please. I purchased these from someone this past summer as Ameraucanas, and am thinking they are EEs, but I need those who know to please help me determine what they are. The first 2 pics are of the same roo. The third and fourth pics are of another roo. The fifth pic is another, and the last pic is supposed to be a bantam Ameraucana roo. Thanks so much in advance.

Hmm, if they are Ameraucana, I would imagine they are Wheaten and Blue Wheaten, the first bird at least. Second one is iffy as I do not believe Wheaten has saddle and hackle striping. But, I am not really familiar with the Wheaten color varieties. The bantam is a EE, as I had that exact color in large fowl and he was a EE, not recognized.

I agree. The first roo looks like Blue Wheaton, and the other possibly Wheaton although the comb is not exactly what you look for with true Ameraucanas. And the last one is probably and EE.

blue wheaten, wheaten, off-color bad comb, gold duckwing bad comb.

I won't get into the Ameraucana/EE distinction, since I think Ameraucana devotees can be a bit silly about it sometimes.

Thanks so much everyone. That's kinda what I thought, but wanted to be sure. I think I'll probably keep the first, although he is not very nice to my other birds. I'll just have to separate him, I guess. The rest, I'll probably just sell. I have too many roos, and need to get rid of some.

Thanks again

Paula:)

If he's not a nice roo, don't keep him, choose the roo you really like AND the hens like, they are the ones having to live w/him and you, too.

They are very beautiful roos, it would be a very hard choice except unless you see which one is best with the flock and responsibilities.

Pips and Peeps already has by pm. She says the first one is a very nice Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. The others are of poor quality and the bantam is an EE.

Paula:)
