I'm thinking I may try to breed him, but not sure. We are talking about building another coop with more breeding pens in the next couple of months. How come we never have enough room?? It's kinda like closet space, you can never have enough. Anyway, I should have the room them. And I like the Blue Wheaton, it's probably my favorite color of all. We'll see.........

I have to agree with Jean, the first roo is blue wheaten and quite nice!

I went thru pretty much the same you did.. bought Ameraucanas from backyard breeders and did end up with some easter eggers..

I bit the bullet and recently added birds that I know come from top breeders.. it was hard to get rid of some of my favorite EEs.. but, I want to show and breed.
It costs just as much to feed purebreds as mutts.. so.. now we have a nice starter flock of Ameraucanas.. we have a blue/black pen started..with blue cockerel, blue pullet and black hen.. waiting on the right splash breedinng stock. We have an awesome white breeding pen.. with a Jerry DeSchmidt bred cockerel , a hen from Paul Smiths lines and another nice henn that we did buy from a backyard breeder. We will have chicks in about a month from the white pen and the blue pen. We also have a silver duckwing roo and a silver hen.. waiting on their first hatch (due jan 27th).

We did work with the best we had to begin with.. but ended up with a lot of EE's.. so, slowly eliminated the questionable ones.. we are getting closer..
