Are these hackle feathers?

This is a 12 week old barred rock cross. I am wondering if these are hackle feathers. I was hoping for a hen

Hackle feathers are the ones on the neck. Saddle feathers are those found in front of the tail. Its hard to tell with the picture and his coloring if I'm seeing saddle feathers, but I do think I see some fresh new feathers coming out there. If you would like, post a standing side view and we can give you a good guess based on that. Seeing his comb/wattles & face would help a lot

Just wanted to add that I can often find the saddle feathers starting to grow if I part the feathers in front of the tail and look for the new pointy ones starting to grow out.

thanks a ton. I have hatched over a hundred chicks this year but the oldest are about 14 weeks old so i am trying to get better at identifying the saddle feathers. Thanks for correcting me.
