Hello
I am new to chickens and just got these three Polish. I am hoping all three are hens 🤞 but have no idea how to tell and the women I got them from thinks one might be a rooster.
Thanks

Welcome to BYC! :frow

Do you know how old? Starting around 12 weeks and usually well by 16, most cockerels will be showing pointy saddle feathers. See example photos from google..

The buff laced with the big wattles is partly due to not being bearded like the others in comparison. Bearding gene inhibits wattle size.

For me.. The first one (same as the last) is sporting too much shiny green, plus I think I might be seeing pointy feathers. I have seen that beautiful sheen on females.. but I'm putting it out there as my suspect cockerel. In laced breed the solid color bars *can* be one of those indicators.

Both in pic # 2 look like ladies to me at this point.

Oh wow, thanks
They are all a year old next month.

Then I would have to agree that all are female!

Feather pattern can make rounded feathers LOOK pointy.

But those are in NO way long and flowing as they would be at nearly a year old on non hen feathered breeds. (Seabrights have hen feathered roosters). Mites can chew off those flowing feathers.. but the rest of the condition across the trio does NOT indicate that as an issue. The lack of (or poor) lacing in THIS instance only indicates pet quality breeding or not for show (actually maybe that's what it always indicates even when it does appear on males).. Speaking on a pet basis.. I like and appreciate the differences and being able to tell them apart verses being perfectly uniform. :)

At this stated age males are usually sporting much longer ear lobes for comparison.. adding to their handsomeness!

Have you gotten any eggs yet? Polish can be very good OR very sporadic layers depending on their line. But they're almost always characters! :wee

They gave me 2 eggs yesterday. I have only had them for about 3 days now.
Now that they are getting used to me a but more I have noticed that one has a bald spot on the back of her head. I was told that they are molting and that's why they don't have all the fancy hairdos 🤷🏼‍♀️
