So when I bought these two girls ( I hope), I thought I was buying Rhode Island Reds... Now I have seen RIR, Production Reds, Red Sex links...etc etc.... I am just curious are these actually RIR's?... Or some other generic Red chicken?

Those two sure look like RIRs to me.

This is a pretty slow time of day, many people are sleeping, so I wouldn't expect a large flow of responses until morning probably. [IMG]

Those look pretty light, my vote would be production reds, but mine is a very uneducated guess.

Even RIR's are "generic." True bred, old-school RIR's are hard to come by these days, with only a relative few breeders specializing in them.

I'd call them RIR's and be happy. They look very nice.
