So, is the solution to apply poison to the ground to eradicate the harmless plants?

And many may not be educated about why that is harmful, so let me briefly explain:
Whatever is on your ground when it rains, gets either soaked into the ground, and heads for the water table, or washed away, down the drains in the street, heading for (eventually) your and my drinking water. So, I take great offense at anyone polluting, or suggesting to others to pollute MY drinking water.
