my roo has developed in a short period of time red dots on his bum and by his leg feathers . we keep the coop fairly clean. i sweep uo floor every day and change beddi g once a week and monthly deep cleaning to keep rodents and prey at bay.. should i try the dust powder to see if it helps. i want to really take him to vet to be surebut i wpuld like to tey some home remedies first.

could be lice, could be mites.
you'll have to pick him up and part the feathers to be able to see what's going on. look around the vent, head and under the wings.
I have no mites or lice on any of my 32 birds. I swear by a food-grade DE and wood ash dust bathing area.
do your birds have access to something like that?
if your roo is afflicted, it's a sure bet your other birds are, as well as their living quarters.
good luck to you!
