Are those saddle feathers?

I've noticed that EEs tend to have sharper feathers than most breeds. The pullets also have that upright stance and tail. I think what throws us off with the feathers is that the lacing in the hackles can make them look pointier than they actually are. Those saddle feathers do look sharp, but not as sharp, thin, shiny, or pointy like a roo's would be.

All chickens have saddle feathers. If you're asking if yours has male specific saddles, no. If it is 12-14+ weeks, you have a pullet.

18 weeks, it's a Whiting true blue, first go round with chickens and I dig them, but she had me wondering cuz she is a strange chick, lol

Ah yes, she definetly a girl then, you won't be seeing any (male) saddles on her

And the pointy hackle feathers come in before the male type saddle feathers.
