Does no one wonder about how much fossil fuel is needed to create the crops for all this "green energy" ethanol? The fertilizers that must be manufactured and the fuel for the tractors?
Its allot if you look at the manufactured fertilizers of industrial farming but still far less than it saves. Fuel for tractors on the other hand is such a comparatively small amount that it is not really worth figuring in.

Oh, yes. I also wonder about the benefits of an electric car when your electricity is generated from coal. But, hey, that's just me.

Yeah something has to burn to produce energy generally, and when it takes twice as much of a substance (ethanol) to make the same amount of power(release energy) what are the savings here and how much LESS toxins are really being released into the air. Some side effects come out of everything that burns as its all carbon based. We run a race car engine on ethanol it is half the price of race gas but takes nearly two thirds more volume of it to make a tad more power not enough to really be concerned about. It has a great cooling effect/properties is the reason we run it but its SO toxic you have to change out the engine oil after every other weekend of racing due to contamination (HOW green is that). Anyway I'm thread killing here so I shall hush up and get back on track.

Oh, and Rebelcowboy, when I was talking dental work, I meant just getting teeth pulled. When I was in my 20's I could get one pulled for $35. Now, they want nearly $1000 to do the same thing. Partly because they now stick some putty in there and call it a "bone graft" which costs you around $400 or more for a pea sized lump. How crazy is that? Not as crazy as getting multiple root canals/crowns on the same tooth (been there, done that, no more) but still. DANG.

There are cheep places still. It cost me $50 per visit an $10 a tooth to get them pulled. Just waked in an got shots an she pulled as many as she could before she or I could not handle any more. I think it took 4 visits an totaled about $400.

I think affordable dentures does it pretty cheep.

$85 to $125 a tooth. Not as cheep as I got mine done but better than $1K

Even so, I need at least 4 extractions and a partial. Or I might just have them do more extractions and a complete denture. At least I know where to get it done for less now, thanks! It's gonna be quite a drive but worth it if I ever scrape up enough even for that.

Oh, come on, you live in Houston! Buddy of mine got three teeth out for the price of a few beers and running his mouth there! You just have to pick the right bar.

;)

If I was younger, maybe. No one is going to fall for that now that I'm nearing 60 :lau

My buisness has been ruined in the last 4 years. I just can't to wait see this clown out of the Whitehouse even if it takes four years and a few months. He is an enemy of buisness unless you are Solyndra. His friends have done well.

You're only as old as you feel!

Although, I don't think I've even been in a bar, let alone a bar fight, in five years or so...
