The only fact is that there is nothing showing that taking the country off the gold standard did any of that. The only thing that it is known to have done is ad a new tax on the people.

The fact is it did happen and you cant say it would have on a gold standard.

No, me and my family are NOT better off than we were four years ago. Prices have gone up, up, and up on everything. Medical bills are rolling in the door. Gas is insane. Livestock feed is unbelievable. Human food is unmentionably high. Besides that, as Catholics, we are appalled by the HHS mandate that forces institutions to pay for things we find wrong!

Now, I see we're talking about inflation. How is it we are better off if we have more worthless paper money with less actual gold to back it? Remember confederate money, which was eventually used as wallpaper because it was so worthless? Or the infamous Weimar republic, where a single egg could cost several wheelbarrows full of money because the money wasn't worth the paper it was printed on? Prices are going up because there is a surplus of paper money, which decreases in value the more of it there is.

(all this from a high-schooler. Oh yah!)

Well with the results of the election, seems that things are going to get much worse for my mom and I. Ever since dad passed it's been tough but now... Might as well go crawl in a hole and die.

Well...I'm sure that worthless money could be used as kindling, toilet paper, tissues, stuffing for bras, paper mache...that money can be used for lots of things. Just not...for anything good.

So not entirely worthless. Nope.

Don't think he can and sure he wont.

That's for sure! I anticipate we will shortly learn what the Great Depression felt like without that great generation to lead us through...instead we'll have the entitlement babies crying.

The largest portion of people who use the "entitlement" programs as you call them are the elderly, you know, the greatest generation?
