Are You A Brinsea Owner? - April Hatch Along - Prize: Ecoglow Brooder!

Congrats on the new 'bator, artathart. I do double check my brinsea with a digital thermometer, and found it was very close. Cheap thermometers tend to be off, but give you a good ballpark on the temperature.

Do you know what the factory preset for the high and low alarms are? Meaning at what temp does it signal alarm for to hot and to cold?

Patiently awaiting my first pip!!! They are due tomorrow and usually they pip and are out a whole day early. I did run the AC the past two weeks because it's been stinking HOT here. So maybe that's why they are taking an extra day. Trying to patiently SIT ON MY HANDS! Haha!

Colie <3 :

I have a octagon 20 advance lockdown is tonite! What should I do lay them flat, leave the rails in or use cartons? What works for you guys?

I always used the cartons in my old styro. bator, and tried using the cartons in my new Brinsea. I'm not sure it's the best route--gets awful cramped in there. However, I'm with you, Colie, what else to do? I just set 18 Marans and 5 Ameraucana--they are snug. If they all manage to make it to lock-down, I don't think I could lay them all in there flat if I wanted to. Doubt I could use cartons in this case either. What about using the rails without the foam padding??--seems like it would get nasty quick.

I downloaded the 30 day free trial, but I think it is way more complicated than I will need. I played with it for a little bit, and it is definitely something that will take me some time to figure out...maybe I missed some directions in there somewhere.
