Are you attached to your cell phone?

Love my Blackberry. Friends and family know to email me and that I will answer as soon as possible. If phone "rings" (silently) and it's not my wife, I ignore it. The once or twice a year that she calls I know it's important.

I have a pretty serious heart condition.
I wear a blue-tooth at all times with my phone in my back pocket. My DH works out of town for 2 weeks solid every month, he will send the police if I do not answer.

What can I say he loves me.

But the 2 weeks he is home it sit's on the counter.

And I only answer it if it is my immediate family. Otherwise I dont talk on the phone. I do have a landline but my heart monitor is hooked to that.

But I agree with too much cell phone, IPOD, IPAD, no real conversation anymore. It is a little sad.

Put me in the attached group.

I work from home, but being able to conduct business from my elderly moms house means I can work on her house rather than hang out at home and wait for the landline to ring. I also do not have to set up a computer at her house cause my email forwards right to my phone, same thing, I can sit down and reply to some one or set up the next days calls all while sitting on moms deck and not at my desk.

I'm completely and totally attached to a cell during work hours if temporarily away from the biz land line. It's always fwd'd to my cell in that case. Employees are always there but I field all calls due to the nature of the accounts. After hours on my time I like that my family or friends can reach me if needed if I'm not available by a land line, and the reverse. We'd never leave mean or demanding messages for each other and we surely don't hound each other, but we keep pretty close tabs for safety's sake as needed, in consideration of each other and the many situations that exist for our health and travels. To us, it's a tool that's used to our benefit. Nothing more or less.

I use my droid all the time. I dont even use my home computer at all. I do understand no one likes to see someone text and drive, or leave a nasty message. Its handy. Im out in my coop sitting with my birds surfing byc. Im outside all the time working on my garden, on the coop, or taking care of something. I have four kids, a loving wife, 14 chickens, and 9 acres of land that we are only using 1 of. Im NEVER inside. I work on houses with people with landlines and they hate it. All they get are junk calls all day. Can you put your home phone on vibrate? I usually answer my calls if I want to talk to the person. I dont get junk calls. I get voicemails from doctors ect. Everyone else usually text me. Its quicker than a call and you can answer at your own pase.... if they let you. I do like having a smartphone. When I have a question.... I google it or search on a fourm or web page I know I will find the answer to. Its like a bookstore in your back pocket that you dont have to travel to. I use facebook and lets face it IM GETTING OLDER. I now have way to take pictures and share with my family all over the place and have it all stored away so I may look at it later. I may save all of my pictures on a disc about every 6 months to a year. I can put a lot of pictures on a disc that doesnt take up a lot of space. I have been doing a little better with the power button or airplane mode:cool: So all in all I take the good with the bad and run with it.............

I have 2 emergancy cell phones one for each truck. The only thing I can do on them is call 911 or if I realy need to I can use my card and buy 10 minutes of time if I realy realy need a tow truck or my husband to come get me.
They are in my emergancy bags one for each truck.
Other then that I have no use for a cell phone,if someone wants to talk to me they can call my home phone. My daughter has a cell phone but her father pays for her time and she bought the phone herself.

I have one, but it is only for when I am out and my family or kids schools need to get in touch with me. I would rather talk on my cordless phone at home. I also do not like to talk while I am driving, so seeing as I only really use it when I am out that means I rarely use it at all because I am usually driving when I am out. I love it for long day trips or vacations. My oldest son gets mad because I don't have a smartphone, but I don't need one.

When I was working I had mine with me all the time, but since I retired I rarely carried it at home ~ until ~ back in April I had just dropped my husband off at the airport for a week long trip to Germany. I was dark when I got home and thunderstorms were blowing in some which had tornadoes. I went to close up the coops taking one of my GSDs with me ~ while closing the coops the rain hit hard and while heading back to the house I tripped and fell, tearing my rotator cuff (again) and dislocating a tendon in my shoulder. As I laid there in the mud and driving rain I realized that as we live in the woods where no one could hear me yell for help and I had no way of contacting anyone. Fortunately I managed to pop the tendon back into place relieving most of the pain and got back to the house. When I am alone at home I now carry my cell phone with me as I do chores outside ~ just in case. I also take it with me when I go away.
