I usually flip my cake upside down and just eat the cake.

I do like the whipped-type icing though.
 
I guess I'm picky, or spoiled. You make the call. The cake has to be homemade, and I won't TOUCH canned icing with a ten foot pole.

I'll tell you what, guys. I'll start a new thread with my recipe. But promise you do not change it in any way. Well, unless you're at a much higher elevation and at that point you're sol because I have no idea how to make adjustments for high altitudes.

But seriously, this is the best cake recipe I have ever had and even the DH, who hates frosting, loves it.
