This is why I pretty much stick only to fantasy and science fiction books. I love the "escape" of another world with different rules than our own.

Have you read the Wheel of Time series yet? Those are great.

If you hunger for more vampire books, read Anne Rice's books. She wrote "Interview with the Vampire," "The Vampire Lestat," etc. etc. They're not books for kids (and maybe not for teens), but they're really, really good.

My dad has them need to ask if he would lite me read them.

Also does anyone else read the Warrior books?

I read the first 6 books of the Wheel of Time and was dying for the 7th book to come out, but then somehow life intervened and I never finished reading the series. Maybe I dreamed this, but didn't Robert Jordan die before finishing this series?

I liked Ann Rice's vampire books, and some fun ones to read are the newer Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlain Harris (not for kids). The HBO television show "True Blood" is based on these books.

Haven't read those...now I know of another thing I'm going to have to start. Got a quick question...

Why in the HECK does Bella hold hands with Jacob?! I mean...what is she?! A lady of the night or something? I mean...she's got the love of her life RIGHT there, he's immortal, going to make HER immortal. Why even go near Jacob if he's going to constantly hold hands with her? Arg...stupid Bella....

I think Bella is conflicted in part because she really likes Jacob and can't see her life without him in it somehow. He was the first real friend she made.

Also, she is worried about her parents and how her relationship with them would change if she becomes a vamp. She worries about who will take care of her dad, if she'll be able to control her hunger and not hurt him, etc. So I think Jacob offers an alternative - his dad is best friends with her dad, when she visits Jacob's family and friends she isn't worried about them killing her, and being close to Jacob is soft and warm; whereas, being close to Edward is hard and cold. Plus she's a hormonal teenager....!

I'm on the third Sookie Stackhouse book. I love to find a series to read after they've all been published. You don't have to wait for the next novel for forever, just pick up and start reading! I heard the HBO shows are pretty good too. I'll wait til I'm done reading all the books first.

I love to escape into another world too.
