I went out into one of my coops yesterday and one of my hens was all fluffed up in a nesting box. I thought "Oh great. A broody." So I shooed her off and collected eggs. This morning I again found her all fluffed up on a clutch of eggs. So I got a pencil and marked 10 for her and figured why fight it.
I have lost count on how many chicks that I've hatched out this year but I am pretty sure that I've got 70 or so in brooders or chicken runs. I definitely have too many right now.
