Arizona Chickens

Is everyone talking in poem still? Or is my phone malfunctioning?

Nuke - Your was a home built bator, right? I wish mine worked half as good as yours. I wouldn't have scrapped so many eggs last year.

Did you mean the Ostrich ranch? No emus there as far as I know.

There's a couple here in Cochise County that raise emus, and I talked with them last year when I was exploring emus myself. I forget how much they wanted for hatching eggs, but remember it was much less than those offered elsewhere online.

(BTW I'm saving emus for when I retire and can hobby farm full-time.)

Yes, the Ostrich Ranch. Some one told me once they had emus also. I haven't actually stopped to look myself. They are sort of a blur at 75 (+) mph.

I'll ask the folks who sell emu stuff at market tomorrow if their supplier has hatching eggs. Might be the same Huachuca City folks, but might not.

Nope, no Emus. I was there last Friday. I got to see Rooster give one of those big ostriches a kiss. Magnificent beasts. The kids love to feed the deer and Lorkeets.

I've posted my quail for sale. I'm having some medical issues and I don't have the time to dedicate to them. If you might be interested in them, please let me know. I'm offering them at less than anyone else currently is just to get them sold. Housed in an enclosed porch. Mite/disease free. Plump fat little creatures. Cash or trades considered.

I will only be keeping a hand full.

Here's a link to what's available.

Bob, are you telling me that is where this all leads to?

First Laree, now you! I saw one hatch on a live web-cam a couple weeks ago, it was neat. I was surprised at the sounds it made. I have to admit, baby emus are one of the cutest things out there.

Didn't you know baby chicks are a gateway drug?

re: the incubator, it doesn't have the automatic turner in it either, so add that to the cost of the trays, any possible defects/repairs, and no warranty. Just a thought. That's the same model as one of my bators though, and I do like it. I put the clear door on the one with no turner and use it for the hatcher, and the solid door on the one with the turner for the incubator.

Its a 1550 Hatcher. It operates a little different. It appears the trays are missing, the water pan/fill valves are missing and its wafers are bad. $350 is a stretch in my opinion.
