You have hens and no roos?

If they are going broody, they have to have been laying?

Can't you put turkey eggs under a chicken?

YOU would NEVER put chicken eggs under a turkey as they would not survive.

the person that sold me the turkeys
said the chickens stay on the turkey eggs
but only 25 days so for the last
3 days they would have to go
in the incubator my friend that
incubates eggs for me is on vacation
he has sportsman incubator

Love that video, thanks for sharing! I wonder what the success rate is for feather sexing?

It is only reliable when the birds are specific breeds (essentially bred for it). I think it may be covered in the sex-link sticky at the top of the genetics forum.

I would be very surprised if the hens got up after 21 days--many folks (myself included) have had chickens sit for 4 or 5 weeks or longer on eggs, waiting for them to hatch. Now if the hens have already been broody for a week or so, I don't think I'd try it, but if they have just gone broody it should be fine.

I have worked in construction too long. I had a moment of utter confusion when you said "fabricate" before you left. To me, that is building up, or creating, whereas for you, it means more of a "deconstruction". LOL!!

My husband would be LOST if you used cooking terms on him.

HAHA... I was sitting here reading that & thinking the same thing..."what is she going to create with the dead chicken". So I guess I've been in construction for too long as well
