cat!
How to get just one baby chick when you live 40+ miles from a feedstore that sells them and there arent any on craigslist?

Road trip! I have a beautiful FBCM 8 days old! Only one, he needs company.

Ooooooooh tempting. But i dont think my Mom will agree to driving all that way with gas prices the way they are just for a baby chick...

There are so many good tutorials out there. What could I possibly add?

Did I mention I think my neighbor breeds peafowl? I am SO going to go over an do some kiss-up. I want to hatch some, but the DH wont let me KEEP them. I could be that neighbor's BFF when my bator clears up....

You sound like me. My wife says I have turkey envy. Just because I stop on the dirt road and look longinly into their pen. Got dragged away from the pen at the feed store because I was checking out the peacocks too. I have a 2 1/2 acre yard and it only has 26 chickens in it. Really I need more....... I'm not addicted I telll you! I can quit any time I want to. I just don't want to.

I've only got .6 acre, and I have WAY more chickens than that!

Constance made some really good points, though. Please don't sit in the corner--we like it when you keep things all stirred up--like for the Chicken Math tutorial we are (impatiently) waiting for.

Who would've thought you could do a whole tutorial on Stinkeye?! I am personally eagerly awaiting your insight into the Quantum Chaos Theory behind Chicken Math.

What would you do with peacock eggs? Create more cute little houses for newborn chicklets to go with the avocado green ones? *I* think you should create an emu X peacock hybrid.

Sonoran Silkies

What would you think about rice hulls in the brooder (assuming I can find some)? Thanks for your input on the rice hull issue

I am done with shavings, especially now that I can't find fine shavings, and they are so dusty!

I would give the chicks back to the owner. The DH says NO PEACOCKS. I guess the BIL's grandma has a huge aviary in Hereford, and they are NOOOISY. But the lady who has them here is 3 houses away, and I have never heard them. Ever.

But you really *NEED* that hybrid. Truly! Bat your eyes for dh and tell him that mother's day is almost at hand...

Mother's day is near
Peacock-emu celebrate
Hatch a gift for mom

I love peacocks! My gramma has had them since I was itty-bitty. She is 83 years old & still has something like 30 peacocks...along with her chickens, guineas, & cattle. I love the sound they make, but I don't think I'd call them "noisy". I'd love to have peacocks, but I worry about predators out here. Although...my gramma (in SE Colorado) lets her's completely free-range, never penned up, and I don't think she's ever lost one.

Tell your hubby you'll trade him your wheelbarrow for one teeny-weeny peacock
