Arizona Chickens

Hello Arizonians...
I have some chickens to sell and was wondering if anyone wants some..
I have some blue and Black bantam orpingtons and I have some red chicks which I am not sure what they are, but they look like red hampshire or Rhode Island reds. They were thrown in to my order as a special. But have to many chickens. I might even have some bantam cochins not sure how many yet, but they are lavender and white..
I found out I am pregnant again and its not going so well, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have the orpingtons in an auction if your interested..
Just PM me

Thanks all

Hooray!! My babies arrived safe and sound this morning. I have 5 Welsummers, 4 Barnevelders, and 6 unidentified packing peanuts. They're black with a yellowish white spot on their head. Any idea what they may be? I need to find someone who wants free meat birds. I have no interest in keeping a rooster.

ETA - looks like the males are Black Sex Links.

Aurorarose, Congratulations - hope things start looking up soon. If you don't get your chickens sold here, try craigslist.

Greenclogs - They could be barred rocks, like Brenda said, or they could be black sexlink males. Both will be barred when grown - the black sexlinks/black stars will probably also have a little gold or brown in their feathering when fully grown.

Thanks! The invoice specifically says that they are males added for warmth, so I'm guessing that they're black sexlinks. They're very cute, but we can't have them. I'm annoyed because I paid for insurance so that we wouldn't get males, and they put them in there anyway.

Ok. I feel silly. I drive by the fair every day, but it never occured to me they would have chickens. I wonder if I am too late. I have never been to a fair here. Tell me more if you can.

Hello All,
I hope you are doing well. I see some that post daily usually haven't posted in a day or two. I hope all is well with you.

Some of you were talking about fizzles/frizzles. You might find this interesting. When he was in his early 20's, my dad spent 2 years or so in Samoa. It is about 83 degrees there everyday year round. He tells me that the chickens with the feathers that curl out are favored there through natural selection. His take is that they do better in the heat because the feathers curl away from their bodies.

Winter & AZ chickens: I too am curious to know if anyone add protein to their feed or light to the coup/run to increase production. So far, it sounds like you are seeing eggs through the winter, just a few less. If anyone has an alternate view, let me know.

Holly
