Arizona Chickens

I went to The Stock Shop for more feed and checked out the chicks - always do. I was surprised to see some blue chicks there - they had some little blue andalusions (first time I've seen these offered at a feedstore).

How on earth can you tell the little chickies apart? It is like cutness overload!

I went to the Stock Shop (67th ave, right?) and they had that HUGE trough filled with chicks and ducklings. It was one confusing mass of fuzzy butts.

I'm used to the chicks they normally have, so when there's something new it catches my eye. These little chicks were blue with yellow underneath - I guessed that they were blue andalusions because I couldn't think of any other blue chickens (they obviously weren't polish or ameraucanas). I went over to the stickers posted on the side to verify and was surprised to see I guessed correctly. Along with the buff orps, polish, araucanas (EEs), & leghorn chicks, they have blue andalusions for $3.99. There was another separate brooder that said Marans - I didn't notice the price.

We already have chicks, so I'm not planning on getting anymore, unless... I get a speckled sussex from Nessa - the addiction continues

. I've always wanted a speckled sussex and hers are the same age as the EE chicks we have now (about 4 weeks), so they would be ready to go outside permanently at the same time ours would.

Right now I have buff orps, ameraucana, and 4 wellies in the brooder. Not selling the wellies just yet though. Just out of the brooder I have speckled sussex, gold sex link, red sex link, and california gray. A few weeks ahead of them are the cali whites, buff brahmas, dark brahmas, ameraucana, and silver laced wyandottes. There are 2 red sex link left that are 3 months old and two royal palm turkey hens. I think that's it right now but getting chicks again soon. All pullets except for one gold sex link roo. If anything brings a sparkle to your eye send me a PM.

Just regular speckled sussex from Ideal. They are chicks right now but they will be a rich brown with white spangles. I don't hatch eggs. Everything I have is from either Cackle or Ideal. Everything I listed in the above posting is for sale. I have plenty of most of what is listed in addition to nesting boxes and feeders.

Higley Feed

Both of these stores are great. The people who work there are all helpful and friendly and the prices are good. Higley gets chicks in every Friday and they carry food grade DE. I do not know when the chicks come into to superstition but I bought three there Sunday.
