I haven't had any troulble selling my chickens either. It may be harder for you because they are mutts and maybe not sexed yet.
I've tried to figure out which ad is yours - I'm guessing it is this one because the mixed chicks in this ad are 2-3 months old and you said you have 9 week old mutts?

BABY CHICKENS FOR SALE THEY ARE MIXED CHICKENS THEY ARE 2-3 MONTHS OLD
FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CALL ...
If it was me, I would post current pictures. Older chickens sell better and new chicken owners sometimes have no idea what a 2-3 month old chicken looks like. Instead of just saying "mixed chickens", I would use the breeds you know you have, for example: "rhode island red, barred rock, orpington crosses" or rhode island red, barred rock mixes". If they are so mixed up you don't have any idea, than calling them mixed breed chickens should be fine.
Have you been able to pick out the cockerels from the pullets? If so, than you can put that in your ad also.
Maybe something like this:
Chickens for sale - these are mixed breeds (rhode island red, barred rocks, etc). They are 2-3 months old and the pullets will be ready to lay eggs in about 3 months or so.
10 week old pullets (baby hens) - $6 each
10 week old cockerels (baby roosters) $2
Or:
Mixed breed chickens for sale - straight run. They are 10 weeks old and the pullets / hens will be ready to lay eggs in about 3 months or so. $4 each
I just wanted to chime in and say that the one thing about ads on craigslist that drives me bonkers is when someone posts something like:
Chickens for sale
555-3434
This makes me insane. No matter what you decide to put in your ad make sure you put as much information as you can about it such as price, age, breed if possible, location, phone number, and ads with pics always get more attention than ones that don't. Please try to use your own current pics as ArizonaDesertChicks suggested. By doing these things it will save you and your potential customers the trouble of calling and asking silly questions that could have been avoided if proper info was provided. Unless you just like 50 thousand calls a day lol. I am sure I am not the only person that does this but if I am on craigslist looking for something and it is email only....I move on. I don't think I have seen your ad and if I did I didn't know it so I can't really say what in particular that I would change about your specific ad but ArizonaDesertChicks suggestions were very good. Good Luck to you and your feathery friends.
