Arizona Chickens

Oh I am so glad it isn't just me! I have a 7 yr old (starts 2nd grade in 8 days!) who won't wipe his own butt. Also won't pick his own nose. Never has. Makes him gag to the point of vomit if he sees his own buggers. And he is a boys' boy too! Evil Knievil daredevil wannabe, no problem with blood (other peoples), scoops dog poop daily, can dissect or decapitate a bug without qualm, but for some reason his own body issues gross him out. My other son, on the other hand, picks his nose like it is an olympic sport...so I am choosing to believe that it is not poor parenting

At some point it must stop, right Arizonachicken? I mean, really...we can't be expected to be going in there when they are bigger than us, can we?

Good luck integrating your flock. It can be very scary.

You aren't alone! My 3 year old digs for gold in his nose. Not shy about it one bit, either. None of my others are nose pickers, though. My six year old told me he'd start wiping when he turned 6. Well, that was July 27th...I'm still waiting.

Storms hit the heat island call Phoenix and just dissapate. No rain for us.. but lots of leaves in the pool to clean out in the morning.

Just wind and thunder here... and the dog is going nuts. Radar shows that Laree is going to get hit again tonight.

Oh geeze, I'm sorry, but you all are fun, and I do feel for your poo and booger issues! I am so glad this thread is here.

Mahonri, your changing signature has been funny, too!

Gallo, I need to come by to pick up my kombucha

Sorry, the week got away from me, again...

We got lots of rain!!! We had to move the chicks out of the brooder on the East side of the porch and put them in the grow out pen, which is more sheltered. Now they are as far from the sides of the porch as they can get and completely dry with wood panels to keep the wind out of their pen. Of course with their heat lamp too. They are so much happier now!
Here they are getting used to their new house. Oh, Phyllis is so cute, she lets the babies sleep under her wings

Looks like we could still get rain later tonight or tomorrow. 50% chance. I hope there is no wind at least. It got dark before I could get the tar paper on my coop build, so it is just covered with a tarp.
