Not cobbled = MODULAR!

LOL! The roof is cobbled together out of wire, spare doors, tarp, plywood intended for coop doors...

"Engineered from re-purposed materials!"

Congrats! WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?!

Mclevinson When do you stop? You are a dynamo! I'll work on the purslane recipes. Thanks again for the scoby! It is happy and well cared for (and finally in my kitchen), although it might miss Gallo's attentiveness.

MikeyD Face it, you are doomed to have 125 chickens. Just build a big coop to start with so the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones don't have to be built right away. I would also add New Hampshire Red chickens to my favorites, in addition to some of the others mentioned already. Ours is interactive, usually nice, and lays HUGE eggs almost every day (5/week), and she is over 3 years old. Very hardy, has been fine in the heat. Keeps the sheltie in line, and chases the pigeons. One could also get a good meal out of her (but we can't, she is a pet).

SouthernDesert LOVE your new avatar!

Mahonri TRAP THE CAT!!! Rotten thing, sorry for your chick losses.

Larree You are a good soul to deal with all those roos for so long AND process them, too! Nice!

Pastrymama TRAP THE NEIGHBOR!!! Nasty neighbors can really ruin your peace. Sorry you can't keep your new birds. What a stinker.

ca - You crack me up! I'd love to come up and see your set-up sometime, and those fancy euro-chicks, too.

Gallo Thanks for the great start on the kombucha, and the cuban oregano plant! It is lovely. Do you need to pick up manure any time soon? We may be heading up sometime next week.

Arizonachicken, congratulations!

mclevinson, you know we all want to see what Superwoman is working on! I laughed at your description of making the back patio suitable for human occupation again. I think I do that about every week; it usually lasts for about two days!

Mahonri, grrrrr....chick-eating cats.

pastrymama, I'm sorry your dreams of breeding fancy Wheaton Marans were dashed by the old curmudgeon. Why does it seem that every neighborhood has one? Fortunately, I don't think I have one living next to me. I laughed at constance's suggestion of trapping him; what an image!

constance, thanks for the reminder about the manure. Now that your mention it, I realize that I NEED an entire truckload. I think I might head up tomorrow or the day after and get my fill. Has she advertised on CL again? I think I've forgotten how to get there.

So I am getting IV infused at Mayo for the next 3 days for my migraines. Been waking up the last few days seeing tracers. So much fun. But, it's a little peace and quiet away from the laundry, dishes, kids, tattletales....
I have a private room and warm blankets

Poop on stinky neighbors!!! That stinks!

We're just waiting for the guy behind us to say something. Gotta say, if we have to get rid of the chickens at some point, he'll be loosing his humongous satellite dish that is so not within their roof line, which it is supposed to be. Okay that was a huge run on - LOL! Hmmmm maybe that is why he hasn't said anything. It's huge and gross and the view from the patio. If he lets me go under the radar, I'll let him!

Thought you may recognize both of them... Max is now suffering from testosterone poisoning, but still a sweetheart as roos go, but a BIG BOY! The head roo on the property confronted Max last week and Max just looked at him and walked away, they are now buds....
