Arizona Chickens

Pastrymama_ sounds like a spa day. I had to get iron trasfusions when I was pregnant last time and it was so nice 6 hours away from kid and husband. I took a portable DVD player, a book, and got some well needed snooze time. Oh yeah, the iceing one the cake....all the hopital ice I could eat. Its better than sonic ice and I loce sonic ice. I was asking them when I could come back!!

Nurseshelly-I was wondering why you hadn't been posting on her so much. I had just hoped that you were on an exotic vacation..not locked away in dark, quiet room.

I hope both of you feel better. Migraines are the worst. They had a segment on the today show on wend or thurs about an implant they put in at the base of the skull. It seemed pretty cool and helpful.

a naturopathic doctor said that quail eggs help for migranes, you can problably find
some quail eggs at a asian grocery store my friend has used them for her migranes
and they have helped alot, i have a list of natural remedies for migranes
not even morphine would take her pain away

I think I heard that they often have quail eggs at the Farmer's Market in Downtown Tempe--not positive, but it is worth checking out.

Poop on stinky neighbors!!! That stinks!

We're just waiting for the guy behind us to say something. Gotta say, if we have to get rid of the chickens at some point, he'll be loosing his humongous satellite dish that is so not within their roof line, which it is supposed to be. Okay that was a huge run on - LOL! Hmmmm maybe that is why he hasn't said anything. It's huge and gross and the view from the patio. If he lets me go under the radar, I'll let him!

Unfortunately, FCC says that HOAs & cities cannot regulate normal communication antennas. But do NOT tell him that

Still a couple left. Will get to them tomorrow or Sunday AM. Would have done them this AM but it was so nice I ended up hauling a huge load of manure for my gardens.
We need to get together soon and talk about our order. Ideal is sold out on a lot of chicks, although I noticed they don't have any fall hatching availability listed yet. Maybe we should call and see what they'll have late Sept, early Oct?
I think I'll get two NNs and two sex-linked red or gold Pullets. Some red broilers and the Cornish X. I'd like about 15 broilers.

Oh REALLY Tracy. Want some of those red birds, do ya? Glad to see I scared absolutely No one away from the craziest chickens I've seen yet. But watching a little silkie ping pong itself inside the coop is pretty funny

I tried putting it's topknot in a pony, but someone took it out! who out there has opposeable thumbs?

if you are ordering from ideal, that where 2 of my crazies came from. but i also have 2 of the sweetest, loveliest, most precious chickens EVER from them! my russian orloffs

Laree ordered some for her project and had too many so i put a few under a broody for funsies and i love them. they are 11 weeks now and look like little owls.

I was kind of thinking about the Russian orloffs. They're sold out for the year and I was really worried about their heat tolerance. I used to have black sex-links. They were very laid back.
I need something crazy to stand up to my Egytians. They're really bossy for they're size and age. Actually, the tiny Banties are sort of bossy to the other chickens, too.
Considering the breeds I have, I doubt anything is going to be much crazier. Almost every breed I own is described as "flighty" and "doesn't do well in confinement".
You did take a picture of your silky with the ponytail?

Took my baby to check into his dorm at ASU. Suffering empty nest syndrome (so is DH). Laree, I am SO right there with you on wanting my baby back.

Pastrymama, try using the pink hair tape to hold the pony tail. That is one of the few things that seems to work. Everything else just falls out.

We once had a neighbor like that. We lived in the country and were zoned agriculture. He kept complaining about my dogs, been though they were rarely outdoors. He walked his fence line at night with a gun, sometimes late, like 2-3 AM. He was nuts! He also complained about the sheep farmer's sheep when she weaned, called animal control because the sheep were too loud. She had 120 acres and so did we!
I ended up getting roosters and peacocks for the first time. He had a security light so you can imagine what that did! I'm usually not vengeful, but he shot my dog, on my property.

Wow, sounds like a script from a TV drama
