Arizona Chickens

I've actually been staring at the wrong end of a Glock idunno two times in 13 years when the Police came to investigate a noise because I was working in the shop late in the evening.

That's gotta be a huge adrenaline rush.

Feed Barn was LOADED with turkeys yesterday! I have no clue what kind they were or how much they were, but they were brown and some were huge already! Sitting in tiny cages

Run Tracy, run! Go get some turkeys, they looked so sad.

Was up all night with possibly one of the worst migraines of my life. Think I have taken every migraine med under the sun that's legal and not narcotic. Need to call the neuro after I take the kids to school. Thankfully, I can drive and I'm not drugged to the hills. I just need quiet, a dark room and some really good meds.

I had basically a constant migraine for about 6 years, my whole pregnancy and then until my son was 5. I was using so much imitrex that I would run out before I could get more because of my insurance. Going on birth control helped mine some, because my period would trigger them and they would last almost the whole month, then start all over. I take a birth control pill where you take it for three months, then have a period, to lessen that problem. But, I was still having them about 15 to 20 days a month. Anyway, my problem (which had been tested for many times

) ended up being my thyroid. I was low normal, and my regular doctor wouldn't treat it. Finally I went to a naturopath, and he started me on synthroid, and amazing thing my migraines went almost completely away. The first year on it I only had about 3 that were difficult to manage. Until mine that started a few weeks ago, it's been a year since I've had a bad one. Oh, I go to an endocrine doctor now, and they agreed I need it. I guess even though my TSH was in the normal range, I wasn't converting t3 to t4 enough. Anyway, you might want to look into it. If the naturopath wasn't so expensive, I would still go to him. He was the only one who would listen and try to find the answer instead of just covering it up with migraine meds.

I tried the pill, made them soooo much worse so i had a complete hysterectomy almost 2 years ago. no difference. been to an endo, had my thyroid checked i don't know how many times by how many docs, head scans, spinal taps, MRIs, etc, 3 neuros, now i am at mayo with headache specialists. got a round of DHE over the weekend and occipiital nerve blocks. someone just chop my head off.

Oooooo. That's so nasty. I hate migraines, but not as much as DH hates for me to have them.

Turkeys...I wonder if DH would go for that. Can they run the yard or do they need a pen?

I'm just lucky the pill helps some, the neurologist said it would either help or make them terrible like it did for you. My sister in law had a nerve stimulator implanted, and it really helps her. This is the website for the naturopath that helped me http://www.caminofamilycare.com. I hope you find something that works! I had had my thyroid checked over and over too, but because it was still in the normal range, nobody would do anything. Then Dr. Leon did further blood work (T3 uptake I think was the test) which the other doctors had not done and found that was very low. The synthroid was an almost immediate fix for the migraines and I'll be grateful I found him forever. My quality of life was really bad, and all of the medications were ruining my life too (topamax - makes you stupid and a bit crazy, now has a black box warning for it, and imitrex - not that fun to inject because it makes you feel like you're having a stroke some times when you are taking it). Anyway, I really hope you find something that helps them, they are the worst!

Mine are in the coop/run with the chickens. They prefer to sleep outside instead of in the coop. They really, really, really enjoy free-ranging the yard.
