Hi nurseshelly!
Thanks! They are so cute! I just got done googleing them and they sound perfect for us!
It's a small yard and no boys allowed.. lol...

I've been wanting to ask how Elvis was doing and are you still able to keep him in the house?
Is he still a little sweetie?

I have serama eggs on the way as of Monday. We are wanting to try and keep one roo in the house.
Also,
My son has been wanting something of his own.. So we are going to figure something out for him, and I was thinking maybe let him pick a serama roo.

We also have parakeets, and other small birds in the house. But he'd want something he can handle and play with.

He use to have a very tame pigeon that he hatched and raised, and misses it..

We have quail, but they're a little flighty.

So.. I'm hoping to get away with a serama roo in the house. lol...

Elvis is still in the house from about 8pm to 10 or 11am. He is still really nice and sweet. He is a super good rooster too, always finding treats to give to the ladies, and he never eats them himself. My son mostly holds Elvis and Marilyn (Seramas), Flo (silkie) and Gertrude (BO).

Thank you!

I'm so excited and can't wait for the eggs to get here! Will probably order silkies too, and D'uccle's.

Elvis sounds like a sweetie! I'd love to be able to watch a roo take treats to the ladies.

My son is 14, and does understand a roo can get mean, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen. I figure serama is probably the only roo I can get away with having. We plan on it being in the house too.

Thanks Becky & Critter - ACV it will be!

Now to find a health food store...

Apache Junction health food stores anyone???

Mikey, Sprouts on Greenfield and Southern. Is that too far? Remember, the cheaper brand of organic ACV is about half the price, too. fleischmanns.

Thanks again Tracy! I got the smaller bottle and the Bragg and Fleishmans were the same price. Picked up some of the wild rice blend to try out (peoples, not peepers) and some chocolate covered cherries.

Next question - Tammy would like to know what the justification for "organic apple cider vinegar" she says she has a chemical background and the vinegar is just an acid, is there any reason it must be organic or will the regular stuff work as well?

Does not need to be organic, unless you plan to make your own vinegar, it doesn't need the mother. The primary reason that it helps prevent coccidiosis is that it makes the intestinal environment more acidic, and therefore less favorable. I'm honestly not certain that any kind of vinegar would not work equally well at this. However, the ACV does have vitamins and minerals that are missing in distilled white vinegar. In my experience, if you purchase at a big box store like Target or Walmart, the "ACV" tends to be flavoured, not actually made with apple cider. That purchased in grocery stores tends to be the real stuff. I am not a huge fan of organic. I don't MIND it, but I realize that natural things are not always good for people or animals, and synthetic ones are not necessarily bad. I am a big proponent of moderation and common sense.

Great answer! Kinda mimics what the Control Tower is saying. The only other reason I saw was to avoid the pesticides on apples.
