Arizona Chickens

Oh, no Becky. That's horrible! The Ideal sexer guy must have been drinking that day. I'm so confused as to who's who now with the extra packing peanuts and I think Mikey and I got a little mixed up on ours, although, it now looks as though I actually have about 6 red broilers like I should and maybe 2 red production pullets? I'm not sure though. There's a lot of chicks moving around now that I added the younger ones and a lot of them are red. I'm just starting to be able to tell the cockerels from the pullets, not positive but sort of sure.

How are you judging the sex of your PRs? Sometimes there is just one that matures faster and I "panic" and think "roo".
Here are my PRs, it's kind of hard to see the wattles in the picture

and the GSLs

I am now confused also. The one that I thought was a PR (really hand tame and a sweetie and named!) looks almost solid red now, and the others look ratty like yours Becky and Tracy. NO FAIR - I'm already attached to One Dot!

Please tell me this is a Production Red (One Dot)

Awesome news flash!

I cant get over how much the chicks have grown!

If they were stinky, Tammy should have thrown them in the tub with the grand babies.

She is giving me the maniacal laugh - can you really bath chickens?

Mikey, Sprouts on Greenfield and Southern. Is that too far? Remember, the cheaper brand of organic ACV is about half the price, too. fleischmanns.

Thanks again Tracy! I got the smaller bottle and the Bragg and Fleishmans were the same price. Picked up some of the wild rice blend to try out (peoples, not peepers) and some chocolate covered cherries.

Oh man, it's so dangerous to go anywhere near Sprouts bulk aisles.

LOL!

Well,
I don't know the process, but I do know they bathe Silkies to get them ready for shows. I'll see if I can find the thread a little later with pics.

It was some pretty sad looking chickens.

well, as much as I like this one and need the alarm, (I've been over sleeping) I don't think the HOA would go for it.

So how do you bathe them? What kind of soap would be my biggest question.

I"m getting probably getting eggs this week and white is one of the colors. Lots of dirt in the back yard.

I had cornish hens yrs ago and hated to see them dirty! LOL!

I put my silkies in a bathtub of warm water with a little Castile Soap (Dr. Bronners), swooshed them around, drained the water, rinsed them with the detachable shower head, and then used the hairdryer to dry them. They didn't seem to mind.
