Arizona Chickens

I "needed" some more Anconas. Next week I'll get some Penedesenca eggs. This will be my third failed attempt at not hatching anymore eggs this year

I really don't know who to blame. I don't think it's my childhood. I actually never liked chickens and did not eat much eggs before getting my flock. As a matter of fact I always proclaimed that I don't want animals that don't have fur. So why are these chickens multiplying mercilessly on my property? It is a mystery, I swear! Nothing I can do though

Happy Birthday!!! Sending cake-thoughts your way...
You can look tomorrow. I check it out a couple times every day for updates. It's like a good TV series where you get hooked. "No honney, I can't come right now. I have to check up on Peaches!"

Will it be too hot for their little chicken feet in the middle of the summer? (I'm not trying to bag on your idea, just wonderin'. You are a most excellent welder!)

I was wonder'n too. The apparatus will be bolted to the house so it is in perpetual shade. I figured that I could always attach a piece of wood to the treadle portion if it does get too hot.

Although it may be a good way of keeping the fatty meaties fom overeating!

Mikey D, I don't think there are any mills in Tucson. I could be wrong, but I've never heard of one.

Tracydr, Didn't you post about eating Kimchi recently? Did you make it? Was it fermented? We had it for the first time last week and we loved it. I'd like to ferment a batch in my crock but it seems that there are nearly as many different recipes as there are Koreans, choosing one is difficult.

Right after I make a penis sweater - I heard about an old lady who sold them at craft shows (all sizes and colors).
