He's beautiful! I know he's an Ameraucauna but he almost reminds me of a Red Dorking. Maybe just because I've been wanting a Red Dorking.
I think my banty is broody! Although, I have very few fertile eggs to put under her. The rooster isn't capable of fertilizing anyone except my two banty hens and I've only seen about 50% of those eggs being fertile. I think some of the eggs that look like Banties are really small pullet eggs from the Egyptians and that's why there are so many not fertilized but I can't tell them apart.

this thanksgiving i am going to have one of my turkeys
for diner but we made sure he was given quality feed
and treated excellent and remember to give
thanks to god for everything you have

I know the feeling. Trying to find a home for one of my horses but I'm afraid to put him on Craig's List because he's a really special guy and who knows what kind of weirdo might get him if they come from Craig's List? I rescued him from an ex-jockey who had raced him and then forgot about him in a little pen full of mud for a year, freezing and starving to death in OK. We've shown and foxhunters together for years but my old body is getting a little stiff for a race horse ride. I'd keep him forever but the price of hay is over twice what it was a year ago and I have four horses. I don't need them and my thoroughbred really needs somebody who could ride him a lot, but also needs a pretty advanced rider.

Years ago, my father got a job sweeping up the theater. We kept our hens alive with the pop corn he swept up. Times were tough, and we just made do with what was available.
