My hubby cares about the housework. He has a mini-conniption fit if things aren't clean and I tell him that I have more important things to do. I told him it's a good thing he has 2 hands to clean with - he'll be able to clean faster that way.

He didn't think it was as funny as I did...

well, i probably thought it was as funny as you did! when i tell my fireman that i can't get things done or blah blah blah, why hasn't he done something, i get the "well, you're a stay at home mom. that's your job." hum, apparently i suck at my job and should be fired and i am severely underpaid! i suggested that i bring back the very affordable house cleaner to take care of things. he said, " how about he pay ME her wage and i clean my own house." sure, there were 2 of them and it took them a little over 3 hours and they didn't watch the 3 kids at the same time. so i need 6 hours and a babysitter.

I'm with you on this one. I hate housework & I have way too many kids, sick kids, & animals to focus on the mundane housework that is GUARANTEED to still be there when I have time for it

Sonoran Silkies I have some questions please. But anyone can chime in. I love the help you get in this forum.
1] Does silky eggs take longer to hatch then other eggs? The one egg that Cotton hatched was one week late and now the last egg she is sitting on is over do by 4 days.
2] I read where Silkies are very difficult to hatch in a brooder? That they either don't hatch or die soon after.
3] Is one color more difficult to raise than another in Silkies?
4] When the silky hen starts laying eggs each day how long do you wait until she starts to sit on them? That is to say how long are the eggs good for before you pull them out of the nest and try to incubate them your self? The last batch I removed after the 3rd day and when I got 5 eggs I stated to incubate them. She layed another 4 and still didn't go to broodyness. I took those eggs after waiting awhile and just three days after I removed them she decided to get broody. I put 3 eggs back with her and gave her a mixed egg I was given. I lost all eggs but one of the eggs she sat on that was a week late in hatching. That Little one is still doing GREAT! I am waiting for the mixed egg to hatch.
5] I bought 6 chicks and lost 2 of the black ones. Of the three buff chicks I have one that gets flipped on her back and can't get up herself!. I thought maybe that is just a chicks way but when I put the others on their backs they come up right away. So what is going on with my little one? She screams her head off until I run in and put her to up right again. I worry that I won't get to her in time. can she die like that? Other wise she is a normal chick.

ONE MORE: That film that we saw where the chicks were being sorted by sex, How can they tell the sex of those chicks while they are so young? It looks like he was looking at the wings? That was so sad! Made me teary eyed.

WOW! Best of luck and prayer to you and yours.

Remember you are only 1 person & can do only 1 thing at a time. Try to focus on the steps rather than the whole journey.
