Arizona Chickens

I just posted about mine in the feeding section this morning. I had T. obscurus beetles invade my colonies and I think they really suppressed the T. molitor numbers. I ended up removing--by hand--all of the T. molitor, scrapping everything else remaining in the colonies, and starting over. The chickens really liked scratching through the remains of the colonies though, picking out all the T. obscurus. They got enjoyment out of that for at least a couple weeks. I sneaked the single reformed colony inside to the office, where it will remain, hidden, until Gallina del Cielo discovers it.

sometimes when i read gallo's posts, i feel like i am back in college in chem 152 which i took THREE TIMES, three semesters back to back and i still failed each time with a big fat F because i couldn't understand what in the world he was saying. i had tutors galore, never helped.

gallo, my brain just does not process your knowledge. were you my chem professor at NAU?

Ha ha! My Chem professor at NAU was horrible, too. The class average was a D. He actually apologized for being a bad teacher! He had another professor come in and take over mid-semester. Maybe we were in the same class.

Here's something I've never admitted, not to anyone. When I was a college freshman I a worked my butt off only to earn a D. Chemistry was never my forte. Truth be told, I ended that year on extreme academic probation.

It's dang cold here, so mine are all sleeping now...since I keep them out in the barn. I think it's finally time to turn the heat on - it was 35 in my house yesterday morning @ 6:30.

35 farenheight? i don't even know what 35 degrees celcius is. maybe i need to go back to school, or not. but i turned my heat on when it hit 70 farenheight in my house. course, i wear pants in the summer. i chill easily

I'm with you! We've a wood stove and it gets fired up early in the season!

If it drops below 70 I put on a parka!

I'm not sure what that all means but it sounds official!

How's this?: I just posted about mine in the feeding section this morning. I had mini-mealworm beetles invade my colonies and I think they whacked the regular mealworms. I ended up removing--by hand--all of the regular mealworms and giving the rest to the chickens. The chickens really liked that and had great fun with it for a couple weeks. I sneaked the new colony of regular mealworms into the office, where it will remain until Gallina del Cielo makes me put it back into the garage.

I've become a cold-blooded creature too. I break out the coat anytime the temps drop below 70.

i think after 3 failed attempts at a chem minor, i realized that several majors were no longer in my future. now me and culinary school? we are like peanutbutter and chocolate

That must have been a good move for you!

Yeah, I after my first year I changed my major. I was forced to move off campus and go half-time for a semester. In all of my education after that I never got any grades lower than a couple B's. They put the fear into me!
