I think The Feed Barn had a pair of Appenzeller Spitzhaubens when we were there Friday morning; at least that is what they looked like. Might want to check with them, and then you could make your own ApZ chicks

Thanks Pastry! I needed that.

I am now concerned, now that I know where the boy's chute goes. When I get 'em I'm going to go straight run.

Maybe we can sometime in the future do a silky app spitz!

Hey I just might be.

I WOULD LOVE A HORNY TOAD! If anyone has one that is at least in the valley let me know. THAT was a great idea!!

Fuzzy - I'm going to place the order when they hatch some app spitz's - please keep in touch

OK here is the deal...

Horny toads are protected in AZ.

You can get a booklet from Game & Fish that will tell you which ones you can collect.

You need a hunting licence to do so though.

You can also purchase a non AZ Horny Toad (California or Texas)

They are very difficult to raise and NEED ants - a lady back east crushes up ants & sprays them on crickets so the HT's will get the acid they need.

I got this information from Jake at Wild Side Pets - good guy, good store - 480-985-3121

*** edited 'cause that's how I roll!***

We have horney toad here! They are wild of course and all sizes. We even found one they size of a dime...it must have just hatched. I love them and keep them around for all out millions of ants. To bad they don't get rid of snakes!!! I am happy that it getting colder, but I found another snake out in the serama pen a few weeks ago. I did catch and relocate miles and miles away because it was small and hadn't killed anything yet. I did have the willies for hours afterward, but I am really becoming more like steve erwin than I would like!!!
