Well I finished adding 200 sqft on to my girls run.

I've also stopped giving them scratch and any treats are high in protein. Here's hoping the feather plucking/eating will stop or at least slow down some. Tired of my girls walking around missing feathers on their rumps. I hope everyone New Year is off to a great start.

What do you all think about sharing our "New Year's Resolutions" ? Mine is to stand up for myself more, stop letting people walk on me. And get more chickens!

LOL! I ALWAYS need more space. Don't we all? Not much in the lavenders or porcelains right now--give me a few months.

I'm saving up so i will be ready when you are. What do you think of my little blue cuckoo boy and how that happened? A sneaky barred rock? He is very pretty, full beard and a big boy. I think I will keep him a while, unless you want him?

Can you post a photo? If he has silkie feathers, it couldn't have been from one of the rocks, but they are the only barred birds I have.

I put down our two remaining guinea cocks last night. I intended to keep them around indefinitely as yard ornaments, as they were wonderfully entertaining. But, as time went on, they'd become bullies to the chickens and turkeys, and we don't tolerate that in our flock - or our family.

I'm having a hard time with it, I think because they didn't go to freezer camp, as usually happens. (I put them out in the desert where coyotes frequent.) Or did I think of them as pets?
