Arizona Chickens

Western Ranchman is near 32nd street and Greenway. I went there today to get a treadle feeder, love the store. I was drooling over the plastic egg cartons too :)

I am so upset :(, the thermostat failed in my incubator and when I went to check on it, the temp was 136 degrees

I had probably 25 developing Seramas in there.

You would have to put it on or under the step. Preferably under and somewhere on the top half unless yours has a lot of clearance before it hits the ground?

Thanks! The people at Western Ranchman also reminded me that more than one chicken are usually on it at a time. I think as long as two are trying to eat it will be fine. Might still put a weight on :) We'll see. I'm deciding if I'm going to paint it or not.
How is Henrietta liking your rooster? I hope she's settling in well :)

NurseShelly, sorry about the eggs going kaput!

AZ peeps:
I was down at Western Ranchman and apparently Nutrena is running a deal where when you buy three bags of feed, you get a re-usable hard plastic egg-carton.
I don't really like Nutrena, but I reaaaaaally liked those egg cartons.
Anywhoo--the promotion started today. Get 'em while they're hot!!
Similar to this, only green and two rows of 6.

I buy the Nutrena Naturewise for my girls there. I even have a $3 off coupon for that. I do need to buy some this weekend. I do not need the egg carrier, would you like it? I could drop it off on my way home from there.

Nurseshelly: so sorry about the eggs.

Arizonachicken: so sorry about the chicken.

Mahonri: I'm surprised she only had three, I was expecting that she'd have at least six. I hope the littlest one turns out ok.
Also, if you really do ever decide to just buy pullets, I'd suggest waiting until MPC has one of their sales, which usually happens in the summer. Generally, you can get 25 pullets shipped for around $50, in the past they've usually had a rainbow assortment and some of the more popular laying breeds. I like them and Meyer because whoever they are getting their EE's from has birds that look more like Ameraucanas in body type and sometimes in coloring.
