Contemplating adopting a dog. Going to give it a trial run on how she acts towards our cats, chicks, poults, and ducklings. Crossing my fingers that she doesn't have high prey drive and tries to kill the chickens. Finding a dog who doesn't have the urge to kill chickens is so hard to find. I would really like to adopt this dog. We will see how it goes. Wish us luck!

New picture of our Standard Poodle pups. They are 4 weeks. The black pup is our new shar pei cross mix. She is 7 weeks old. Her name is Darcy. She is going to make a awsome farm dog.

I hope she is a good fit for you. I have been so lucky with my dog. We got her at 5 weeks old and when she was a year and a half we got her a kitty. That was her baby. She nose nudged him everywhere she wanted him to go and cleaned his bottom as if trying to get him to go to the bathroom. She cleans the chick's bottoms too and also tries to de-mite them (they don't have mites). Our cat is over a year old and she still cleans him daily and checks on him throughout the day.

OOPS After the results from google came back, I realized searching for images for "Adult Sex Links" on my work computer was probably not a wise idea. So, with that said. I have two pullets hatch 1/4/2012 (10 weeks old) one is orange and the other is Red for sure, neither have white. I would like to see what adult Sexlinks look like and try to figure out the breeds. Nugget was suppose to be a RIR and Fingers was suppose to be a BO, per the feed store. As chicks they were identified on BYC as sexlinks. I purchased them from Superstition Feed (not knowing the history).



I am also starting to worry that the pullet that has always been the head hen of this group is not a hen at all. 10 weeks and she has the reddest face of them all. The EE also has a much pointier tail then that rest. Oh, please don't turn out to be roos. This batch of 8 was suppose to be 99% hens, 3 turned out to be roos already. These 5 developed at the same speed, except the redding that Enchilada is doing, her butt is showing in this picture.


Oh yes, and the wannabe chicken wanted her picture taken too

I sure hope you find a dog who will get along with your birds. I lost my Flash yesterday to my dog.
Right now, I HATE my dog. I'm feeling horrible about the entire situation. Good luck to you, for sure!!!
