Photos? Also do ya all have the option to move to the next page at the
top of the page?? I do not..

I didn't even know there was an app to post photos. I'm using and iPad and I can only move to the next page at the bottom. I haven't tried the new format from my desk top yet.

Most of my Olive eggers have been Blue Wheaten Ameraucana over a French Black Copper Marans.

Half of them end up Black Copper and half are Blue Copper. My Blue Copper Olive egger is just gorgeous. She took an awfully LONG time to start laying but the eggs are amazing. I wish I could put her under a Blue or Splash Marans to see what I'd get.

I did put a Wheaten Marans hen under the BWA once and got an awesome "Red Wheaten" looking hen that laid beautiful Olive Colored eggs... I put her daughter under a different BWA and now I get Green eggs with Olive speckles from her daughter.

Thanks everybody. Update all six chicks made it. I think the ACV water saved those weak ones but by yesterday afternoon they were all up, eating and drinking on their own and chirping away. I don't think I will ever do that again. I have emailed the breeder but I know he was out of town for the weekend for a show. I'll be at the PO tomorrow to do the insurance paperwork. You are right, even getting money back does not make up for dead chicks. I just don't understand why they weren't fast tracked up here, especially when the box was clearly marked Express and LIVE.

Did you open the box at the PO? You may have problems in getting a refund if you did not. And I think that the shipper is the one that has to file for reimbursement. Nevertheless, do try, and make a point of asking about all tracking information they NOW have. WERE the birds sent via Express Mail (not just the postage paid for it, but were all the routes and connections appropriate for Express Mail)? Was the box labeled Express? Was there information on the box indicating that the contents were live chicks? I hope you can get some resolutions.

OK, I put it another way. What the "H" makes a OE?

to make and olive egger, you need both a blue eggs layer or gene carrier, plus a dark brown egg layer or carrier. I don't think that it matters whether the hen or rooster is the brown or green gene carrier. I used a EE rooster over a red sex link and got a very nice sage colored egg. If I still had my Ameraucana rooster I could put him over my Marans but alas he is gone. I think one of the best combinations would be to have a proven Arucana rooster over any of the three breeds ie Welsummer, Marans, Penedesenca that are proven to lay the darkest brown eggs.
