Arizona Chickens

We had our first oweeee, Molly our blue Andalusian, lost one of her toe nails... Any thing I need to do for that????
I must of just missed the incident! I was home and did not hear anything out of the ordinary... I went out to say hi & make sure
they were good. I noticed blood on the ground... First I thought it was Kent pecking to hard to tap... One by one... Finally I saw
Molly with the blood dripping from her foot... Sure enough her toenail is completely gone...
I isolated her so she could stay calm, not make a mess & so her sisters wouldn't peek at her wound... It worked.. By the time,
bed time came around it had stop bleeding... She seems to be fine...
Do you think it will grow back???

Oww... my toes curl just thinking about it. Screw trying to fix it, just put her out of her misery.

If for some reason you have a hen that's producing eggs & want to get rid of it because of something like that let me know. We will gladly take her.

This evening's fire is going to be beautiful. Hope ya all can make it. A few of my neighbors are stopping over..

I must of not hit the right button... Redo--
So sorry for your loss... Do you think you will get another chick??
If so what kind do you want??

We are definitely getting more chicks. We are heading out to Texas early, early tomorrow morning. I have been trying to get ahold of Bobby up in Heber to get two Black Copper Marans, but he hasn't responded to any of the my four messages over the last six months. We could be stopping by his place on the way back. It's about 90 minutes out of the way, but would be worth it. I guess I need to push more for finding some in town this week.

My wife wants a couple of Silkies. I can't stand the way they look, but she really wants them. The fact that she wants any type of chicken is a plus, so I'll let her get a couple. I want to bring these four (or five) in at the same time.

If for some reason it does not work out for you to go to Bobby's on your way home, Let me know and we can work something out. We have a friend that goes up at least twice a month. He is always willing to help.
Very exciting! Can't wait to see what you get. We are really enjoying this fire. I wish you guys could be here. Give your kids a big hug from us.
Have a fabulous time!
Happy new year to everyone!

Hi everybody, if you feel like a road trip after the holidays, there is a poultry show in Safford January 5 (Saturday).
Judging starts at 9 am; Auction at 1 pm; Raffle at 2 pm; Awards at 3 pm (after which people are allowed to leave with their birds) and the barn closes at 5 pm.

I've got 6 birds entered. Heard there should be about 500 birds entered. I hope it is a good turnout. I'm also taking my pair of Blue Laced Red Wyandottes hoping to sell them there...
