rough figure for collecting rain water, about half a gallon per sq ft of collection area for every inch of rain. so even small sheds can collect a fair amount of water; a 10x10 roof = 100 sq ft = 50 gallons of water for every 1" of rain.

We are trying out a new computer with Windows 8. So far we both HATE it (Windows 8, that is). First time reading and replying to threads on BYC with this machine (old one died) and the "Quote" option has disappeared

About the saguaro, starting arms can be done, but it is difficult. One of the biggest problems with saguaros in the landscape is too much water: that will kill them over time.

mahonri, i am late seeing it also but i want to let you know i am very sorry for your families loss. i hope you are all together offering one another strength and hope, sharing wonderful memories.
 
i love the rain, but i dont like what it does to my chicken yard

we had dinner guests and i kept all the curtains on the east side closed tight so no one would see the chaos and muddy mangy looking chickens
