I'm starting to consider raising some Cornish X this fall. My plan would be to get them in late September/October when its cool enough that I can keep them outside. I don't want to raise a ton of birds, especially since I'm going to be 'pasturing' them in my vegetable garden, so that they can dig and fertilize the soil, I figure I only have room for maybe 5 or 6 birds. Plus, I'll be raising them on the sly, since I already have the maximum number of birds the law allows, but I figure that I'm unlikely to get caught with meaties, since they won't be around very long.
Anyway, since I'm raising them for meat, I want to get the best price possible, which means buying 25 chicks. This, clearly, is about 20 more chicks than I want, so, would anyone be interested in going in on an order of meat birds? I'd be willing to order the birds and front the money, and even keep them for a day or two, until they get picked up.
