"RED LIGHT DISTRICT" at our home....the 3 week olds all lined up in a pretty little row.

My December/January chicks have a box they pile into. I took away the red light a week ago. I'm taking away the box this week. There are a couple of roosts they can use, they may as well learn now.

Anyone need some silver laced polish roos? Looks like all four are roos!

Have you done a search on here about hens crowing? There are LOTS of people who have laying hens that crow, there is even some video clips and they really do sound like a rooster... I personally still think it's a girl but I guess you won't know for sure until you see her lay an egg.

I will have to check that out. I would love for it to be a pullet.

Well, the new girl got along fine last night but as soon as I let them out this morning, the others were after her. I scooped her up out of a corner and boxed her while I rigged one of the nesting boxes closed. She now has a 36"x18" box with a view thru the coop door. She has her own food an water.
Someone got her pretty good at some point. She had a little blood on her leg. She's ok though, just scared.
My bad. How long do you think I should keep her apart from the flock?

Here's Sasha and that's Nugget, the biggest BO girl we have.
