Arizona Chickens

I am in the nw valley, and am looking for a red, or partridge silkie roo with a straight comb. Obviously it will be crossbred so bigger the better. I will pay up to 10 dollars for said roo, and he will be very needed in my breeding pen. Don't laugh, my mutts are beautiful! Lol, he will be used to try and make a couple silkie alohas......oooooooooo I have just enough room for this silly project, and I thing orange mottled silkies with straight combs, would just be the deco my yard needs. Btw, please don't discourage me by telling me its going to take bazillions of gens to get what I want. I'm just playing with it on a hobby scale, and I need good Broodys so no matter what they look like that will be their job. Please pm me if you have a boy for me

I have a started blue partridge with a single comb. However, it is also red :( I also have several started frizzled silkies with single combs, but they are black and blue, not partridge, and I do not know gender (too young). I do have a couple of other young birds that might fit into your needs, too.

I'm so sorry to hear that.  I thought it was looking up a bit from the post the other day.  Your daughter will understand eventually.  It's an excellent lesson in life, albeit not an easy one.  Hugs from all of us!

I thought so too on Sunday, but everything went downhill Monday and this morning was sad. She looked horrible and I couldn't let her go on like that.

Party went well. Was held at McCormick Ranch Train Park. Of course we had the triple digits!!! Put a test tube in the smoke stack. Added water and dry ice. Cooper loved it.
Precious.. love the dry ice smoke out of the chooo chooo choo.. Wow about the roo snapping the hens neck!! Awful.. Our hatch is going great.. It is fun...8 more to go.. If there are any chicks left I will post...

I culled Button this morning. She looked pretty bad last night and very lethargic this morning. She could barely stand. I did it before I woke my daughter. I'll tell her tonight. She'll probably be ****** at me because she didn't get to say goodbye.

Oh that's a real bummer!! Yeah my kids would be mad to.. We have a dog that's now almost 18.. I remind them to go say good bye
every once & a while.. She was looking pretty bad for a while, then pulled out.. It is just hard to make that decision..
Our other dog had a seizure, at about 18 as well.. They were in school.. I could not see her suffer any longer so my husband & I took
her into whatever vet could take us right then.. It was so awfull.. We still miss her to this day.. They grew up with her their whole life..
My DH said that his dad would just say they found a new home.. Yeah right, kids are smarter than we think.. We still have not named
all of our new ones yet, but we will have a button for sure..

Thanks for the reply, but the blue will be difficult to breed out. It can be a red or partridge silkie, just don't know if ill find what I'm looking for in my price range. What other birds might you have to fit my needs? Doesn't have to show silkie feathering, just carry the gene.

So sofia decided my pearl earring looked like food.. Wham pecks at my ear while I am trying to check on
Lorine hatching chicks.. Wonder if it will cause damage or get stuck??
I am sure as soon as it is pooped out another hen will think it is food again... Than what??? Round & round...
DO NOT WEAR EARRINGS around chickens ...
So excited about Loraine hatching I feel as though it is a bit crazy fun around here.. Chicken drama continues........
